Star Rubies and Sapphires are both “Corundum family. Sapphires come in every color but red. When they are red they are called Rubies. The star quality is caused by Rutile needles inside the crystal. Most of the star Sapphires and Rubies in the market are Synthetic. This is because there are not many natural stones being found at the present time, from consistent sources. There have been many of these found in our mine dirt. These stones tend to climb in value quickly when they have the desirable qualities.
